Hello and Welcome to the Northern California Chapter of IIDA. This is an exciting time to be involved in IIDA as our chapter continues to make huge strides each year to raise the bar. Our IIDA Northern California Chapter is made up of geographical regions that span from the Bay Area, across the Central Valley, and over to the Islands of Hawaii. While we are diverse in our make-up and location we all share one common focus, the commitment to this organization and to our profession. Together we represent a community that works toward a common purpose.

I’d like to remind you that as a member, you are part of this community and together we are stronger than apart. If you are not a member of IIDA, now more than ever, I urge you to become part of this community and take advantage of it as a professional tool and an educational resource. IIDA Northern California is here to support you. We are continually striving to improve existing events, while initiating new programs that focus on topics from education, to project tours, to Government and Regulatory Affairs. We are working hard to meet the needs of our chapter’s Professional, Associate, Industry and Student members.

As we look toward to the coming year, some members are still faced with economic challenges but we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel as other members are beginning to see the number of their projects increase. We have witnessed and are living through one of the greatest economic downturns in American history. The good news is that the worst appears to be behind us. The even better news is that this experience has left us smarter, stronger and better prepared for the future. IIDA NC has provided support to our members through these difficult times and will continue to do so.

I am proud to be serving as your President. We have a phenomenal board of directors who represent the best and the brightest from all over Northern California. We have hundreds of volunteers working to provide you, our members, with some of the best programs and events that IIDA has to offer. Our City Centers will be hosting amazing events throughout the year that you won’t want to miss. Look for these in our weekly calendar e-blast that is sent to each of you. We have an exciting year ahead of us with many new initiatives identified that will continue to elevate our chapter to a higher level. I am looking forward to this year and to a strong future for IIDA Northern California.
